On crossing the longitude of the most southerly tip of Tasmania at 2322 UTC on Tuesday, Groupama 3 has scored her first record in this Jules Verne Trophy attempt: the Indian Ocean crossing in a time of 8d 17h 39′. Most significantly though, Franck Cammas and his men had a 9hr 56′ lead over the reference time.
